Just Sub-Genius, actually.
You know, Uglyrodent, I don't know if I've thanked you yet for pointing out how the Fuzzy Select tool works. Thank you.
In a perfect world, every skin would have a transparent background. Unfortunately, certain wildly popular yet absolutely horrible (when compared to others) image editing programs do not support transparency. This raises the question: What background colour should I use for my skins?
You should always use a background colour that is not used in the sprites in your skin. Generally, this forum hates white and black backgrounds because they are very often used in sprites.
Magenta (#ff00ff) is very popular as a background colour because not very many sprites use it. If that doesn't work, just use any colour that the sprites don't use. You could try #123456 or #000fff or #001337 or even #009001.
Note to self: Don't use Paint to make skins.
