This has been an oversight, but it is a unique ability that would give Bill more mobility.
This could be nice, if it were implemented properly. I wouldn't want to fall through more floors than I intended.
It should work just like Contra: down + jump. It shouldn't be a problem.
Well, coding it might be a problem -- specifically getting Bill to stop dropping at the right time. I guess he would drop through a continuous solid area, then reach empty space, then land on the next solid floor? And there'd have to be some kind of check to prevent him from using it when there are no floors directly beneath him?
Hmm... What about trying to shoot downward at something while moving and needing to make a jump? I really wouldn't want to fall through a floor because I was trying to kill enemies and jump safely to another platform, which is something that is likely to be done when moving quickly for speedruns and such.
SMBC's level structure is very different from Contra's . . . this may not be appropriate here.
