The date says "Apr 27th, 2010".
That's when the game first came out. It is suppose to be there.
I understand what it is, but forums, websites etc. that link to it directly will result in people getting the impression that the game is 2 years old and hasn't been updated since.
Don't think it matters. Most people aren't even gonna pay attention or jump to that conclusion. Even if they do think it's a two year old, unupdated version...it isn't. They're still getting the legitimate, recent version.
Also, the change log does list the date of each update.
Personally, I don't see a problem.
Plus I respect that date too because it's like history...
Those people on that forum are fucking idiots.
Welcome to the internet
Even if the game was 2 years old... does that somehow make it bad? That one guy on that forum is like, "This game is so old"...
I play games that are over 20 years old and still find them enjoyable.
I wonder if Jay even can change it without removing and completely re-uploading the game. I don't know how the site works, but that date is probably just showing the date he originally uploaded the game. Updating the game, then, wouldn't change that date, since that's when that page was made.
I don't think it really matters, though. If people don't want to play it because it "is so old," that's their problem.
"Those people on that forum are fucking idiots."
That actually looks a lot like something people here would say to each other.
Person A: [ambiguous statement]
Person B: [CORRECT STATEMENT WHICH I MAY BE WRONGLY INTERPRETING]
Person A: [explain statement]
Person B: [DISREGARD, APPLY RHETORIC DIRECTLY TO THE FOREHEAD]
While the format is all too familiar, I've never heard someone here disregard something for reasons as stupid as being "old" (despite two years being far into the current gen of gaming).
I know, I was mostly referring to the bickering.
To play Devil's Advocate here, the page title says "Super Mario Bros. Crossover 2.0", and Apr. 27th, 2010 is not the date Super Mario Bros. Crossover 2.0 came out. It might be appropriate to change the date, but only for major updates like 2.0 (technically we're on 2.031 as of this post, but that's not worth mentioning in the header).
In other words, if it should be changed, it should be changed to Feb. 8th, 2012.
Hello, skyy. If you are reading this, you're a fucking idiot, and should take the "stab yourself" name to heart. Literally, kthx.
