I was poking around through some of the old threads and found one in which Jay was considering porting SMBC to HTML5 and wanted advice on whether it was a good move. In that thread, the consensus was that HTML5 wasn't ready. It was still too early in development, was only supported by Chrome, and didn't run as fast as Flash. So, Jay decided to keep the game in Flash and closed the thread. That was in 2010. Back then, HTML5 wasn't even considered a "Working Draft" yet. Quite a bit has changed since then. HTML5 is much more advanced and supported by nearly all browsers (though not Internet Explorer 8). Its use is growing more widespread and replacing Flash -- for example, some of the most recent interactive pages in Homestuck use HTML5 rather than Flash. From what I've heard, even Adobe is considering abandoning Flash in favor of HTML5. So, what do you think? Is it worth re-opening this discussion?
