    One problem with that: If you do that, you won't be able to use Gameboy & NES as separate skins.

    One idea could be to make Kirby a reskin for Bass & give him more jumps & replace his default weapon with inhale (which could be used to replace finding powerups, if it's not too hard to impliment) or with stars. But I agree with powergo: "I hope we wont have to end up doing that!!!"

    This discussion has been going on since 2011 & Kirby still hasn't been added. SMBC is now a personal project as of 3.1, and Jay says Kirby will probably never be added: "Kirby would be a lot of work to add, so I don't think that will ever happen. Sorry!"
    That's just too bad. Maybe after Super Action Squad is completed, Jay will get bored enough to want to tackle adding Kirby. I hope so.

    Aquatic enemies don't give Kirby powers, even when above water.

    In fact, the fish in particular DO appear above water and DO NOT give powers.

    Just saying.

    But there is Water ability in Kirby's Return to Dreamland.

    Yeah, but you don't get it from aquatic enemies.

    You can get cutter from that duck guy in Kirby's Dreamland 3.
    But I don't think you can get abilities from fish, because Kirby can't inhale under water, so there is no reason to give them an ability.
    Except in Kirby 64, where you can get Cutter ability from that weird red fish, that shoots his head at you and grows a new one.

    You can get powers from certain water-themed enemies.

    You can not get powers from aquatic enemies.

    "Aquatic" means, for the most part, "in or native to the water". Sometimes it's used to mean "about water" but not often. So you can get powers from enemies that are made of water, based around water, or use water as an attack, but Kirby games have never allowed you to get powers from enemies that are primarily found in water.

    That's all I was trying to say, sorry for the confusion.

    I think it would be great to combine several ideas.

    1. The following enemies would provide powerups:
    Spiny=Needle
    Hammer Bro=Hammer (Armor Piercing weapon)
    Podobo=Fire
    Sidestepper=Cutter
    Firebug=Burning
    Icicle=Freezing

    2. All other enemies can be spit out as stars except Buzzy Beetles, Bullet Bills, Lakitus, Spike Tops or Barrels. Koopas cannot be spit out as stars but as shells like being kicked. Copy Essences for all powerups are given after the Mushroom so they can be accessed in all games.

    3. Other powerups based on other characters are available from Copy Essences. These powerups will be similar to others found in Kirby games.

    Bill: Laser (Based on Laser)
    Link: Sword (Based on Sword)
    Mega Man: Super Arm (Based on Throw)
    Ryu: Shuriken (Based on Ninja)
    Samus: Ice Beam (Based on Ice)
    Simon: Whip (Based on Whip)
    SOPHIA: Multi-Warhead Missile (Based on Tri-Missile)

    I know Jay said this will likely never be, but one can still dream!

    i think that your idea of kirby in smbc would be great. if they had the time, ER (Exploding rabbit,) could add kirby in. but he may be a little too much like mega man. just saying.

    I want him in too kid, but at this point, I don't think it's happening.

    why not kirby... WWHHYY

    So anyways, I'm out of ideas. This thread went on too long.

    It's too late anyways.

    NES Remix 2 has the Kirby in Super Mario Bros. concept already imported.

    MissingNo2 Level 9: Spike Top

    I don't know how that marks a "too late" if they did the same with Samus, which is already done here.
