    I see they're trying to please both veteran and modern players in Generations. This is impossible since one can say both are from completely different games. Sonic has become something else that does not remind me of the 90's treasures.

    So i don't like Generations because Classic has modern elements and Modern is... well, modern.

    I like Modern Sonic. Unleashed had good core gameplay; the problem was that literally everything besides the core gameplay was terrible. (Well, except the music.) Generations brought back the Unleashed core gameplay (plus some improvements from Colors, and some new ones) and replaced the "everything else", plus it included Classic Sonic, and actually put real effort into it.

    I have a very bad general opinion about ANYTHING modern-ish.

    Classic has many many problems... Just by seeing videos i can see the physics were messed with, it's overall very messed up. The sounds aren't from the Genesis either.

    The graphic design of Generation is excellent overall but the gameplay is too far from the original core. It can be fun on its own, but for any person that didn't play any of the recent games it handles bad.

    I can number a few things i dislike about both engines.

    → Spinning is useless to speed
    → Acceleration has been severely messed with
    → Stage design involves too much automatic sections
    → The boost thing. It should've been dropped years ago
    → Homing attack :rolleyes:
    → There are dash panels every inch
    → Spindash is overpowered and uncontrollable
    → Too much straight sections, too few areas when you actually have to think your way through
    → Bowling pin enemies
    → Overpowered Modern Super Sonic
    → Underpowered Classic Super Sonic
    → The game "helps" the character so often that you can complete some stages without ever touching the D-pad.

    To be honest, in the classic games I've tried, Sonic usually went too fast to actually have time to think about which way to go. Do I jump or keep going? Oh it doesn't matter because I just slammed into a spike wall. Of course there were levels that were more platformerish and gave you time to think, but I think this was a problem in classic and not just today.

    I don't see Casino Night, Flying Battery, or Marble Garden as a problem. I do agree though that hitting spike walls was annoying, and it was really frequent in Sonic 3.

    I think it might be a good idea to give Sonic the classic 16 bit abilities, and give the modern abilities to someone like Shadow.

    Okay, I guess blowing up in your face like that wasn't very productive. Anyway, several of these complaints you had (this doesn't mean I think they're all legitimate, mind you!) are actually addressed in a mod:
    That YouTube channel contains previews of the mod explaining and demonstrating the changes it makes to physics, as well as a download link. (For the mod, not for Sonic Generations. Piracy is bad!)
    That said, I was a big Sonic fan growing up, and was saddened when he started going down the toilet. Now that he's come out with a genuinely good game that I love after a string of bad ones (some REALLY bad), it upsets me when people shit all over it without even playing it.

    I don't know if rings were ever brought up. Maybe they can be enemy drops. They would provide the extra hit point, and when hit he'd lose all of them so a major aspect of his gameplay can remain intact

    Technically, coins are not the same as rings. While they both provide extra lives when 100 are collected, their similarities end there. Also, you have to think about skins as well.

    Now that there are available sprites, Sonic can be implemented by copying Mario.

    Someone may have already thought of this, but missingno2 gave the idea of kirby's enemies to come out that he has to suck up to get the power if he's ever implemented... why not translate that for sonic? monitors would come out of the boxes and sonic would have to spin into them to get shields/1-ups. Just a thought.

    Oh, and just three words regarding the fire shield: Samus' Varia Suit. those three words are self-explanitory.
