So anyway, this thread has as main purpose to post co-op mock-ups, so I think that if it isn't moved outsie of the "Features" section/forum/part, it should at least be renamed.

Hey something hit my head again. What happens when you die? If it's gonna be like NSMBW shouldn't there be a 1up counter by the mugshots?
Players could share a life counter, like in SMBX.
In SMBX, when one player died, they could press the "A" button, and respawn where another player was standing.
Or you could have permanent death.
SMB levels arent really that long.
This is a good idea since it's adds a challenge. How about as a option to have sharing lives or having your own. I like having your own since in Mari0 you have your own lives, Sharing lives work too. We can put a 1up counter next to the coin one.
However for a enjoyable co-op experience, which do you think is better? I think having your own life's is better.
It would look the same as 3 and 4 player co-op.
Alright I updated the hud to make it look better. The New Super Mario Bros. Wii lives concept is in. But we got two flavors. One is sharing the other is individual lives.
If you have one person that sucks ass at the game, then it's not going to be very fun.
especially on the bullet bill stages.

....or it could be, that if you get a 1up, everyone else does too, but that's no fun at all
....and this is why I would prefer individual lives.
In Mari0 when you collect 100 coins or get a 1up mushroom everyone gets the 1up. While no sort of competitive gameplay I would prefer the Mari0 way of getting 1ups since some levels are a pain in the ass for co-op.

more seriously, i can see how it'd be like that, especially on the stages with the "seesaw" platforms.
stay too long on those and now your partners can't get across.
unless they're bass/sophia/weegee, that is....
They are but it's even more of a pain in co-op. So by moving good in the bullet bill stages you gotta have teamwork to beat them.
A lousy team will die fast. A decent team can manage well and possibly beat the game.
In NSMBWii, when you collect 100 coins everyone gets the 1up (because coins are shared), but 1up Mushrooms only benefit the one who collects them. That seems to work pretty well.
One benefit of this, by the way, is that if one player runs out of lives, the others can collect coins to bring him/her back.
